Happy Hour in the Hamptons

Hamptons Happy Hours With a Twist

Enter East Hampton Happy Hour into your search bar and you’ll see so many choices loading that you might want to organize a sunset fun cruise, especially if you’re planning a Hamptons bachelorette party or other group outing. You’ll find a few of these gems are actual bar-bars, but most are restaurants where, for a happy happy hour price, you can taste some of the finest cuisine in Long Island.

How to Choose your Perfect Happy Hour Spot

Rather than the ol’ top ten, we’ve broken our list into a few categories to help you find the best happy hour place to suit your mood.

Getting the party started

The Fun

These are the establishments with special mixed drinks, or they feature especially good Happy Hour prices for the area. It is the Hamptons after all, so you’ll still have to shell out some clams for a glass of wine with your mussels, but these places generally feature lower prices during cocktail hour.

A perfect pairing of wine and fresh seafood

The Springs Tavern (and chews) – 15 Fort Pond Blvd East Hampton, NY 11937 (M-F, 4:00-7:00)

A longtime, casual Townie spot with great food – discounted appetizers and 1$ off drinks. Try the watermelon cocktail. And you can bring your pup.

Smoky O’grady’s BBQ & Pub – 306 Flanders Rd, East Lyme, CT 06333 (times not listed)

This is truly a pub style place with decent priced beer, wine, and cocktails and finger-licking barbeque. Generally crowded and loud with live music.

Cove Hollow Tavern – 85 Montauk Hwy, East Hampton, NY 11937 (times not listed)

Half upscale Hampton farmhouse style restaurant/half tavern atmosphere. What to get to drink? We found the Private 2; a mix of gin, Prosecco, and peach delicious and refreshing.

The Chews

Some of the best happy hour establishments feature discounts on basic bar food while others showcase their finest dishes to promote their outstanding cuisine.

It’s easy to find excellent Long Island cuisine

Nick & Toni’s –  136 N Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937 (5:30-6:30 M-F, 2:30-6:30 sun)

Newsday called the Mai Tai with Diplomático Blanco one of the top ten cocktails on Long Island, so there is that, as well as it being one of the best restaurants. Beer for $6 and wine and cocktails for $8 last we checked. Must have: zucchini chips.

There’s nothing like looking at the water at dusk

George’s Lighthouse Cafe – 1999 Montauk Hwy, Montauk, NY 11954 (5:00-6:00)

George’s is the spot to hit after the Montauk lighthouse and trekking around until you get so hungry and thirsty you must get a drink and some sliders ‘n fries. American fare and reasonable drink prices.
